What we do

Six trades that would normally mean six phone calls.

In a town this far west you cannot ring around for a specialist and wait a fortnight. So we do the lot: the wiring, the gas, the aircon, the truck, the ute, the caravan, and the gear you need on hire while the job is on.

Licence 67307

Electrical

General electrical contracting across homes, businesses and industrial sites. Installations, fault finding, switchboards and repairs, done by a licensed contractor that has been working out of Charleville for twenty years.

  • Domestic and commercial installs
  • Industrial and site work
  • Fault finding and repairs

Inside and out

Lighting and solar

Interior lighting, and outdoor and grounds lighting for courtyards, paths and car parks. We are also a local solar installer, so panels, inverters and batteries are handled by the same crew that wires the rest of the job.

  • Air conditioning installation

Workshop and roadside

Auto electrical and mechanical

Auto electrical and mechanical repairs in our own workshop on Sturt Street. Caravan and vehicle electrical fault finding is a regular job here, because a lot of what rolls through Charleville has come a long way to get here.

The workshop

Twenty years on the same corner, and a crew that mostly stays.

C.R.E. stands for Charleville Refrigeration & Electrical, and the company has been registered and working out of Charleville since June 2006. The yard is on the corner of Sturt Street and Cadagi Street. It holds the workshop, the hire gear, the containers and the trucks.

“Our approach is to provide you with the most innovative and cost effective service within the electrical industry. We pride ourselves on providing honest and reliable electrical solutions.”

Charleville Refrigeration & Electrical

It is not a one-man operation. A photo the crew dug out from 2009 has fourteen people in C.R.E. shirts standing in this same workshop, and plenty of those faces are still around. That matters in a town of three thousand: when you ring, somebody who knows the job picks up.

Our work

Grounds lighting, switched on after dark.

Pathway and bollard lighting through a landscaped courtyard, wired, mounted and commissioned. The kind of job you only ever see properly once the sun has gone down.

A landscaped courtyard at night, gazebo and seating lit by bollard lights under a crescent moon
Gazebo, seating and shelter, all usable after dark.

Bollards down every path, and through the garden beds.

Outdoor lighting is one of those jobs that has to be right first time: the cable goes in the ground, the concrete goes over it, and nobody wants it opened up again. Mounting, wiring, switching and commissioning, all done by the same crew.

  • Pathway and bollard lighting
  • Car park and yard lighting
  • Switching, timers and sensors

What people say

Half of these are from people who broke down out here.

Charleville sits on the highway, so a fair bit of the work is somebody's caravan or truck that has stopped a long way from home. Those reviews below are on our Google listing, word for word.

Amazing customer service, Teagan in particular has been super helpful with looking after our vehicles and crew (even offering rides to the airport!!) Thoroughly recommend!

A personal thanks to Sam for coming to our aid when our vh transit refused to start. Sam went through the process of fault finding in a professional and friendly way until he pinpointed the problem. The ignition key had the chip missing. Sam searched around the vehicle and found the chip that had fallen from the key saving us the expense of recoding a replacement chip. As a very happy customer caught in the outback, I can highly recomment this company .

Assisted us with a Caravan Electrical issue. Peter and Randall were exceptional in helping us even though they were busy with other work. The work Peter (Auto Electrician) was very professional and he had us on our way in just over and hour. Can praise the business in general enough
